Dutch Security Cluster HSD drives innovation for a safer digital future

The HSD introduces scalable security solutions, fostering collaboration among 300+ entities to enhance global cybersecurity.

A Hub for Collaboration and Innovation

The Hague Security Delta (HSD), a prominent Dutch security cluster, stands at the forefront of addressing cybersecurity challenges. By interlinking more than 300 businesses, government agencies, and academic institutions, HSD cultivates a robust environment for sharing knowledge and developing innovative security solutions. With a focus on areas like Cyber Security & Resilience, Smart Secure Societies, and Data & AI/Intel, HSD aims to fortify the digital landscape both within the Netherlands and on a global scale[1][2].

Strategic Expansion and Global Reach

In its pursuit of a safe digitizing world, HSD is not only expanding its reach through new innovations but also by strategically positioning Dutch expertise internationally. One such initiative is the upcoming reconnaissance mission to CYBERSEC 2024 in Taiwan from 14th to 17th May 2024. This mission is designed to forge connections with key players in Taiwan’s cybersecurity sector, promoting Dutch solutions and exploring collaborative opportunities in hardware and software applications[4].

Fostering International Entrepreneurship

The HSD Campus serves as an accelerator for security startups, offering a Startup Visa to help businesses establish their presence in the Netherlands. Entrepreneurs gain access to a broad network, participate in community events, and benefit from the campus’s central location, which boasts excellent connectivity to major transport hubs like Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Den Haag Laan van NOI train station[3]. Companies like Bodyguard.io, situated on the HSD campus, epitomize the cluster’s collaborative spirit, working collectively since 2013 to enhance digital security[5].

Sweden: A New Frontier for Cybersecurity

Looking towards Northern Europe, HSD recognizes the opportunity to aid in bolstering Sweden’s cybersecurity posture. Despite Sweden’s advanced digital skills, there is a notable gap in cybersecurity, particularly among SMEs and public sector organizations. HSD, in collaboration with InnovationQuarter and the Dutch embassy in Stockholm, will participate in the Trade Mission Cybersecurity & Digital Tech in Sweden. This mission aims to capitalize on Sweden’s digital prowess by offering Dutch cybersecurity solutions to enhance their resilience against digital threats[6].
