The grants, aimed at fostering international research collaborations, were awarded through a highly competitive selection process. Each application demonstrated a high level of engagement and potential, underscoring the vibrant research community at UT.

Meet the Recipients

The four recipients of the SIEG are Rianne Kaptijn, Wander Kenter, Wendie Klieverik, and Linlin Pei. Rianne Kaptijn, Manager of the Teaching Academy BMS, and Wander Kenter, Manager of Business Partnerships & Business Development at the TechMed Centre, are among the honorees. Joining them are Wendie Klieverik, a stage coordinator at the Mobility Office in the Faculty of EEMCS, and Linlin Pei, an Educational Consultant at the Centre of Expertise in Learning & Teaching (CELT) in the Faculty of TNW.

Goals of the Grant Program

The SIEG program is designed to provide seed funding that enables UT and University of Waterloo staff to travel between the institutions. This travel facilitates the exchange of best practices and international experiences among staff members collaborating with diverse units within the partner institution. The overarching aim is to stimulate interaction and synergy between the research, education, and community environments of both universities.

Impact on the University Community

The awarded projects and initiatives were selected for their potential to make significant contributions to UT’s strategic objectives. By participating in this program, the recipients will gain invaluable skills and insights directly applicable to their roles at UT. This opportunity not only enhances their professional development but also enriches the broader university community through the integration of innovative research and educational practices.

A Strong Partnership with University of Waterloo

The collaboration between UT and the University of Waterloo, one of UT’s Global Academic Partners, underscores the importance of international partnerships in advancing academic and research excellence. These grants are a testament to the strong ties between the two institutions and their shared commitment to fostering global academic collaboration.
