Eindhoven University of Technology Hosts AI Research Networking Event

Eindhoven, Monday, 31 March 2025.
Join the EAISI Cafe on April 1, 2025, at TU/e for AI lectures by key figures like Lex Hoefsloot. Experience enriching discussions on AI advancements and connect with professionals.
Distinguished Speakers and Innovative Research
The upcoming EAISI Café will feature several notable presentations, including a keynote address by Lex Hoefsloot, co-founder of Lightyear and Startup Advisor. Hoefsloot will share insights from his experience in the automotive sector, stating that ‘founding Lightyear in 2016 and bringing our first cars into production taught me how things can develop in unexpected ways’ [1]. The event will take place at the Zwarte Doos filmzaal on TU/e Campus from 15:00 to 16:30 [2].
Cutting-edge AI Research Presentations
The program includes diverse research presentations addressing critical technological challenges. Researcher Dimitra Dritsa will explore the gap between AI-driven technology outputs and user expectations, while Lars Sickert Karam will present findings on AI-based pedestrian crowd modeling, particularly relevant as ‘pedestrian crowds are among the most complex and unpredictable systems in existence’ [1]. The event builds upon EAISI’s foundation of 300 academic staff and 600 PhD candidates working across various AI domains [3].
Networking and Community Engagement
Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an hour of networking with refreshments [1]. This aligns with EAISI’s broader mission of connecting researchers, companies, and students in the AI field [3]. The event is free to attend, though registration is required [2], reflecting TU/e’s commitment to fostering collaboration in AI development and practical applications.
