HomeWizard Launches Affordable Plug-In Battery for Home Solar Power Storage
HomeWizard introduces a self-installable Plug-In Battery for €1,395, aimed at optimizing solar energy use and reducing grid dependence. The battery stores 2.7 kWh and complies with EU safety standards.
Innovative Solution for Residential Energy Storage
The HomeWizard Plug-In Battery is designed to be user-friendly, allowing homeowners to easily connect it to a standard electrical outlet without the need for professional installation services. This innovation aims to make sustainable energy storage more accessible to a wider audience, facilitating the efficient use of solar energy generated during the day for night-time consumption.
Technical Specifications and Compatibility
The battery boasts a storage capacity of 2.7 kWh and can charge and discharge at a rate of up to 800 watts. It is compatible with any brand of solar panels and inverters, making it a versatile option for households with existing solar energy setups. The compact design of the battery, measuring 40 cm in width, 20 cm in depth, and 30 cm in height, ensures that it can fit into any home without requiring significant modifications.
Efficiency and Safety Features
Equipped with an 800-watt micro-inverter, the HomeWizard Plug-In Battery operates with up to 30% more efficiency compared to traditional large inverters. It meets all relevant EU, CE, and grid standards, including EN 50549-1/2 and 6mA, ensuring safety and reliability. The battery is built with Lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) cells, known for their long lifespan and safety, offering up to 15 years of operation and 6000 cycles.
Economic and Environmental Benefits
The Plug-In Battery is priced at €1,395, significantly lower than other home batteries on the market, which can cost between €3,500 and €8,000. Households can reserve the battery with a €50 deposit to secure their place in the production queue. By reducing reliance on grid electricity and optimizing the use of solar power, the battery helps homeowners save on energy costs and lowers their carbon footprint. Each battery can reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 300 kg per year, achieving carbon neutrality within three years.
Market Impact and Future Prospects
With the expected delivery starting in July 2024, the HomeWizard Plug-In Battery is set to meet the growing demand for home energy storage solutions in Europe. The elimination of net metering in the Netherlands by 2027 is likely to further drive the adoption of home batteries. HomeWizard’s founder, Paul Straathof, emphasizes the company’s mission to make sustainable energy accessible to everyone. The Plug-In Battery not only provides an economical solution for energy storage but also plays a crucial role in reducing grid congestion and promoting the use of renewable energy.
