University of Twente Hosts Master Open Day for Aspiring Innovators

On November 21, 2024, the University of Twente will welcome future graduate students to its Master Open Day in Enschede. This event offers a comprehensive look at master’s programs, campus life, and the university’s focus on solving global challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Event Schedule and Activities
The Master Open Day will feature a range of activities to help prospective students make informed decisions about their future studies. The event kicks off with a campus tour led by current students from 14:30 to 15:30, providing attendees with a firsthand experience of the university’s vibrant campus life. Following the tour, an Info Market in the De Waaier building will run from 15:15 to 17:15, covering essential topics such as student housing and admission requirements.
Informative Sessions
Attendees will have the opportunity to attend several informative sessions designed to address different aspects of student life and academic progression. A session on transitioning from a bachelor’s to a master’s program is scheduled from 16:15 to 16:40. Additionally, there will be two program presentations in the buildings of the respective master’s programs, one from 17:15 to 18:15 and another from 18:45 to 19:45. These sessions aim to provide in-depth insights into specific programs and specializations.
Focus on Key Themes
The University of Twente emphasizes education and research aimed at addressing major global challenges. Key themes include health, sustainability, teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Example projects highlighted at the event will showcase the university’s commitment to these themes, such as improving food security in Africa, developing apps for diabetes patients, and transitioning to electric vehicles. Specialized Sessions for Bachelor’s Graduates
The Master Open Day will also feature specialized sessions for graduates from different educational backgrounds. There will be a dedicated session for HBO (higher professional education) bachelor’s graduates to explore the transition to master’s programs at the University of Twente. Similarly, WO (research university) bachelor’s graduates will have a session to understand the nuances of moving from their current bachelor’s to a master’s program at the university. These sessions are designed to address specific needs and provide tailored information for a smooth transition.
