Fryslân Launches €3 Million Agricultural Innovation Subsidy

Leeuwarden, Friday, 11 July 2025.
On August 15, 2025, Fryslân will introduce a €3 million subsidy for agricultural innovation to boost sustainability and productivity, focusing on collaboration and aligning with EU Green Deal goals.
Collaboration and Sustainability at Core
The ‘Samenwerken aan innovatie EIP 2025’ subsidy, part of the Common Agricultural Policy 2023-2027, focuses on fostering collaborative innovation among at least two parties, with at least one being a farmer. This strategic initiative is designed to enhance sustainable agricultural practices through the development and exchange of new concepts, products, and services that meet societal expectations around food and health [1].
Goals Aligned with EU Green Deal
Fryslân’s initiative specifically targets the creation of environmentally sound and market-ready agricultural concepts to improve farmers’ positions within the supply chain. It also emphasizes efficient management of natural resources, including water, soil, and air, aligning with overarching EU Green Deal objectives to combat pollution and climate change [1][3].
Launch and Information Sharing
The subsidy program will officially launch on August 15, 2025, and an informative webinar, organized in collaboration with the provinces of Fryslân and Groningen, and the North Netherlands Cooperation Association (SNN), will occur in mid-September. This webinar aims to clarify program specifics, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions about their potential projects [1].
Integration with European Networks
Approved projects will become part of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) network, facilitating Europe-wide learning and innovation stimulation in agriculture. This integration will help scale successful innovations across the EU, amplifying impact and fostering cross-border cooperation and knowledge sharing [1].
