Dutch Security Cluster Leads in Cyber Innovation

The Hague, Thursday, 10 April 2025.
Security Delta gathers over 300 parties to enhance digital security and innovate on cybersecurity solutions, bolstering the Dutch economy and broadening international collaborations.
Foundation and Growth
Founded in 2013, Security Delta (HSD) has evolved into the Netherlands’ premier security cluster, bringing together more than 300 entities including companies, governmental bodies, and knowledge institutions [1][2]. Based at the HSD Campus in The Hague, the organization operates as a non-profit with a focused mission to enhance digital security across the Dutch landscape [2].
Recent Innovation Initiatives
A significant development in The Hague’s cybersecurity landscape launched on March 26, 2025, with the Platform Local Cyber Resilient The Hague initiative. This collaborative effort between De Haagse Hogeschool, the municipality of The Hague, and Connect2Trust aims to assess and enhance the cyber resilience of 1,400 organizations [3]. ‘The challenges around cyber resilience are only getting bigger,’ stated Elisabeth Minnemann, Chairman of the Executive Board at The Hague University of Applied Sciences [3].
International Collaboration
From March 31 to April 2, 2025, Security Delta participated in a strategic innovation mission to France, marking a significant step in international cooperation. The delegation, which included key Dutch cybersecurity organizations, participated in the Forum INCYBER Europe in Lille, where Minister of Justice and Security David van Weel inaugurated the Dutch Pavilion [2][4]. The mission featured crucial knowledge exchange sessions on post-quantum cryptography and fostered French-Dutch collaboration in cybersecurity innovation [4].
Future Outlook
HSD’s commitment to fostering innovation continues with several upcoming initiatives. The organization is set to host the International Cyber Security Summer School (ICSSS) from August 17-22, 2025, marking its 10th edition [5]. Additionally, The Hague will host the NATO Summit 2025 from June 24-26, welcoming approximately 8,500 visitors including 45 heads of state, demonstrating the city’s growing importance in international security affairs [6].
