In October, five Dutch startups secured substantial investments to propel their innovative projects focused on environmental and technological advancements. Among these, SeaCrete, a spin-off from Wageningen University & Research, received €100,000 from agrifoodtech-accelerator StartLife. This funding aims to scale SeaCrete’s bio-based concrete substitute designed to restore marine biodiversity by supporting oyster and coral reef recovery [1].
Addressing Methane Emissions and Water Conservation
Hydryx, based in Amsterdam, garnered €2.5 million to enhance its technology for capturing methane emissions from landfills, thereby reducing greenhouse gases and increasing energy output [1]. Meanwhile, HULO, a company dedicated to water conservation, raised €2.3 million to further develop its AI-driven platform that detects water leaks using pressure and flow data from utility networks [1].
Enhancing Data Processing and Neurotechnology
Konekti, another Eindhoven-based startup, secured €1.2 million to improve its data preparation tools for process mining. This technology aims to optimize business processes by identifying inefficiencies through data analysis [1]. ONWARD Medical, also from Eindhoven, achieved a remarkable €50.85 million in funding to commercialize its neurotechnology systems designed to restore mobility and autonomous functions for individuals with spinal cord injuries [1].
