Innovative SMEs in the Netherlands are invited to showcase their projects in the KVK Innovatie Top 100 2024. Applications are open until 1 August.

Categories and Judging Criteria

This year’s competition introduces five distinct categories: Circular Economy, Energy Transition, Labor Market and Society, Food, Water and Infrastructure, and Health and Care. Each category will feature twenty finalists, from which three winners (gold, silver, and bronze) will be selected. Innovations will be judged on originality, growth potential, sustainability, and their impact on the industry and society. To qualify, products or services must already be available on the market.

Expert Jury Panels

Each category will have its own expert jury, comprised of professionals who are well-versed in the latest market innovations. These jurors will assess the entries based on their expertise and industry knowledge. The top 100 companies and their innovations will be introduced to the Dutch public in October. The winners will be announced during the KVK Innovatie Top 100 Event in November, where the most innovative SME in the Netherlands will be revealed, succeeding last year’s winner, Ferr-Tech.

Impact of the Award

Judith le Fèvre, CEO of Ferr-Tech, highlighted the significant impact of winning the KVK Innovatie Top 100. She remarked that the recognition not only crowned their hard work but also opened new doors and strengthened their belief in the power of innovation. According to le Fèvre, the award has energized the team, fostering unity and inspiring continued experimentation and innovation to address the growing issue of clean water scarcity.

Regional Representation in Previous Editions

In the 18th edition of the KVK Innovatie Top 100, Noord-Holland led with 22 companies, followed by Zuid-Holland with 20, and Noord-Brabant with 17. The Agrofood sector had the highest representation with 17 innovations, closely followed by the ICT and healthcare sectors, each with 16 innovations. Notably, the KVK Innovatie Top 100 does not offer a monetary prize, emphasizing the showcase of the capabilities of Dutch SMEs.
