Partnership Announcement
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the organization behind the globally renowned CES event, has announced a strategic partnership with the European Innovation Council (EIC). This collaboration aims to spotlight Europe’s technological prowess at the forthcoming CES Unveiled in Amsterdam, scheduled for 15 October 2024. This event will serve as a prelude to the CES 2025 in Las Vegas, which will take place from 7 to 10 January 2025.
Showcasing European Innovations
CES Unveiled in Amsterdam will feature an array of European technologies, bringing together key industry players, startups, and investors. Notably, the event will introduce a ‘pitch battle’ where startups can present their innovations, with the winner earning a coveted spot at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Gary Shapiro, CEO of CTA, emphasized, ‘Europe is a technology hub with a strong startup ecosystem,’ underscoring the importance of this partnership in amplifying Europe’s technological influence on a global stage.
The Role of the European Innovation Council
The European Innovation Council (EIC) plays a pivotal role in this collaboration. As Europe’s primary innovation program, the EIC boasts a budget of over 10.1 billion euros, dedicated to supporting deep tech, unicorns, centaurs, research projects, and female entrepreneurship. Since its inception in 2018, the EIC has backed over 2000 startups and SMEs, resulting in more than 600 innovations and 100 patents. The EIC’s involvement in CES Unveiled aligns with its mission to support promising European innovations from early-stage research to commercialization.
Driving Technological Leadership
The collaboration between CTA and EIC is expected to elevate European innovations on a global platform. By participating in CES Unveiled, European startups and SMEs will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies to an international audience, thus enhancing Europe’s visibility in the tech industry. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate of the Netherlands also supports this initiative, promoting the country as a hub of innovation with strong international competitiveness and a focus on sustainability.
Future Prospects
As the countdown to CES Unveiled in Amsterdam continues, the anticipation grows for what European innovators will bring to the table.
